So I went to the antique mall today and found these pretty clear bottom beauties! The color on them remind me of neapolitan ice cream :) Lady at the counter said they were given to her as a wedding gift in 1976...Does anyone else have these bowls? I have only seen the blue ones..

I have several of these types of bowls. I have the peach colored one, a black one, beige ones, and a set comprised of dark blue, red, and yellow. I'm on the lookout for a green one to complete my set, and also white ones to go with the black. I think you'll really like these!
ReplyDeleteEither she is telling a bare faced lie or she didn't mean these bowls exactly. They definitely did not come out until the late 1980s.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty find, I love the colors! I also didn't think they made these clear bottom bowls until after they stopped producing the milk glass patterns but I have seen very little info on them. I don't come across them very often either. Nice!
ReplyDeleteYeah I wasnt sure about her story either, but that is what she said. When do you think they where actually made?
ReplyDeleteThese clear bottom bowls were introduced in 1986, not 1976. I have the blue "rainbow" set. They're nice tough bowls to use!
ReplyDeleteI believe they were produced into the early 90s, too, though.
ReplyDeleteok, thanks. I wonder why they are so hard to find then? I still love them!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I looked at the clear bottoms on those and thought they looked very familiar. I have a blue set that I put on a top shelf and haven't used in years. I had completely forgotten about them. I would have bought them new, possibly late 80's or early 90's. Wonder what else I might find in my own kitchen......?
ReplyDeleteI love these. I got the exact same set at a garage sale last fall for $5!
ReplyDeleteA great looking set no matter the age!
ReplyDeleteYes, they are from the late 80's. I received a set in 1989, as a wedding, gift in 1989, in primary colors ( blue, yellow, and red). They are so dependable and microwave really well. I am still using them, daily!

I also meant to put in my comment that I didn't think they came out until the late 1980's or early 90's. I know they aren't nearly as vintage as some Pyrex, but I do love them, and enjoy using them.
ReplyDeleteWell thats pretty cool anyway, they are around the same age as me haha! I just like to know when stuff came out, but yeah your right it doesnt matter, cause i love them anyway :)
