First Post

Hello everyone my name is Kristi and I am new to the Collective. When I first got married almost 18 years ago we didn't have a lot of money and my mom and I shopped yard and estate sales to furnish my first home. I discovered a love for the primary colors of Pyrex. I have the complete primary set and the primary fridgie set from the very early days of my marriage. For years I bought pieces here and there but somewhere along the way I quit buying and got rid of almost everything but my primary pieces (I still use them almost daily).

A couple of months ago I was at my local Goodwill and found a small Spring Blossom casserole and my obsession began again. Luckily for me my mother had many, many pieces she had picked up at thrifts and yard sales that she gave me over Easter.

I just set up this cabinet in my living room. Almost all of these pieces have been collected in the last 2 months.

The Turquoise Butterprint pieces were bought yesterday at a flea market from the lovely couple who got them as a wedding gift. She was pleased they were going to someone who would enjoy them.

I bought the pink bowls at a yard sale. I am still looking for the smallest one. The pink daisy I just bought Tuesday from my local Salvation Army for $1.99 (I was way too excited about that one). The cake pans and pie plates were picked up here and there by my mom and me.

This first post is getting way too long so I will save the rest for another day.

  1. Wow you have found some awesome Pyrex. I love the pink but have only found one bowl in my price range. I love the Spring Blossom pattern and the Verde patterns. I use my Pyrex all the time. I look forward to seeing more of your collection.

  2. Welcome!

    Great post and collection!

I'm on the hunt for any fridgies and the primary set. I have never laid eyes on a fridgie. Maybe they don't exist in Canada? lol
