One is not like the other...

One of these dishes was purchased off Etsy and cost an arm and a leg...

...the other was a $4 SA find in perfect condition...
I love them both (almost) equally. Do you like your 'expensive' Pyrex more than the stuff you thrifted, or is it all the same?

  1. I love them all the same! The 2 pieces I've used most lately cost 75 cents and $8.

  2. I love ALL my Pyrex equally no matter how much I paid for it! Of course, there are some patterns that I like better than others.

  3. Getting a good deal makes me happy but I love all my Pyrex.

  4. I'll admit that I secretly love some Pyrex more than others, especially aqua pieces and fridgies in particular. And I love my bargain Pyrex in a different way because I'm not afraid to use it day in and day out.

  6. I feel the same way as Sunshine. The Pyrex I find at thrift stores is usually not in pristine condition so it gets used more. I am more likely to pay a premium for more rare Pyrex, so the expensive things are likely to be on display. My favorites are Butterprint and Gooseberry, thrifted or not.

  7. I get the biggest thrill out of finding stuff at the thrift and those pieces almost have sentimental value for me. It's also fun to find things on craigslist. The stuff that comes home from the thrift just gets washed and then immediately put to use. It becomes part of my everyday life, without me worrying about scratching it up. Trading was also great but it got pricey after shipping fees. Buying off etsy was the least satisfying because it was like shopping for anything else. The thrill of the hunt wasn't there.

  8. I LOVE the mod kitchen casserole and have always been on the lookout for it. Expensive or not, what a great piece! Congrats on both.
