Pyrex Overload

Last weekend, I had plans to meet up with my sister up north for some thrifting/antiquing.  So wouldn't you know it that an ad showed up on Craigslist that morning for an estate sale that promised "tons of Pyrex".  I checked out the pictures of the Pyrex and didn't see anything too exciting.  Mostly just duplicates of what I already have and patterns I don't collect.  But there was a lot of other vintage kitchen ware that I was interested in.  So, I sent my husband in my place.  I told him "I'm not interested in any of the Pyrex unless its pink or turquoise or a rare pattern".  Do you think he listened?

Um, the answer to that question would be a big fat no.
Lord help us.  Can he be stopped?

Evidently my husband is a member of the "Leave No Pyrex Behind" club.  He brought home EVERY SINGLE PIECE they had.  What a guy, huh?  He was so proud of himself.  He got it all for $35.00 which I will admit is not a bad deal.  But the only ones that I am keeping are the two snowflake snack servers.  I'm glad he brought those home because I do collect those colors.  Now I just have to figure out what to do with the rest.

I am totally open to trading.  Let me know if your interested.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Pyrex Buddies!

  4. I would love the crazy daisy/spring blossom casseroles (I even have extra lids for the ones that don't have lids!) but I don't have much for trades...I have a turquoise like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75349537@N03/6786608223/in/pool-78485517@N00/ I also have a friendship mid size cinderella bowl but it has some chips on the edges-but the print is good. I also have a promotional divided floral with stand: http://www.pyrexlove.com/floral-promotional-divided-dish-casserole-963/glassware/

  6. That was sweet of him! I use my less favorites as my "work horses" so I don't cry if my husband or kids break them or they get scratched/chipped.
