Any Explanations?

I was out at a "local" (It's an hour from my house in Toronto) antique market on the weekend and found this! I've have been thinking "Shenandoah" was the name of this pattern...

I posted this photo to my Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lulubellevintage/) and we thought maybe they thought "Shenadoah" was too "American" and they changed it's name for Canada to Wintergreen. We couldn't imagine what they were thinking. how does this pattern look wintery at all?!

So, HoneyberryHaskap said this in regards to this find on Flickr  "Here is the official word from Corelle Corner:
In Canada, Shenandoah was named Wintergreen instead, but the pattern is exactly the same. It is still American-made Pyrex, but in a different box."
It's always neat to find little bits of information like this lying around.

Hi! I'm new here :)

Hello! My name is Amanda and I am a newbie! I've seen vintage Pyrex before on a few blogs I visit and thought it was beautiful, but never really gave it a second thought. Fast forward to last week! I was taking my oldest daughter to the Doctor and we had about 20 minutes to kill. There is a Goodwill store right across the street so we decided to walk in and check it out :). I saw these little beauties sitting on the shelf.. and scooped them right up!

Now that I've had the time to research a little more, I realize I am a pretty lucky gal to have found a complete set of mint Butterprint fridgies WITH lids! This sparked a bit of an obsession and I've been hunting here and there as I can. I got skunked the first 2 times I went looking after this amazing find... but I found 4 more pieces on Wednesday! The green and yellowish Cinderella bowls were found at Goodwill, as well as the divided casserole dish lid. The Early American pieces were found at an Antique/Thrift shop. I think I was really still just in the "OOH PYREX!" mode at that time, and now I'm finding that I'm not really very fond of this print.. lol :) Oh well!

Hullo fellow Pyrexians!

I love thrifting and retro, well made objects! Therefore I love Pyrex.


I just started collecting in November 2010, so my collection is small.

I've moved to a 160 acre farm and am starting a whole new lifestyle and following my dreams. It's pretty wonderful.
