Wow

I used the word "Wow" as my title because it was the only word I could come up with to describe what I found today while at an antique mall in the small town that I grew up in...

And for $40 you can darn well bet these beauties came home with me.  The largest bowl is a duplicate for me but it's always good to have an extra just in case of any unforeseen disasters.


Pyrex Love describes these as Orange Butterprint but I have always thought they looked yellow.  Oh well. Who cares?  They are mine.

Wow, I have not posted anything for a long time. Having a baby will do that to you. I have still continued to collect Pyrex though. Who can stop once they started? I love summer time because all of the garage sells. Last weekend I managed to get all of this for $8.70. Such a good deal! Then to top it off, my sister bought me the blue 401 to complete my primary colors mixing bowls set. The other pictures are of my collection. Happy Pyrexing!!!

My 1-Year Post!

Don't Judge Me :-)

I know that there are a lot of you out there who think that buying Pyrex online in "cheating".  Sure, it can be pretty easy to find it if you just head to your local antique malls and thrift stores. But what if you are a collector of certain colors and patterns and you just can't seem to find them in the wild and you resort to eBay or etsy?  Does that make you a bad person or a cheater? I believe that as collectors, we should be able to go through any means available to acquire that certain piece we need.  Besides, on the Collective blogs, there is no rule stating that we can only share pieces that we have found by ourselves with no online help at all.  It's about sharing our love of Pyrex, no matter how it was acquired. 

Now onto my recent finds, all online

Earlier in the year, I found the large 444 promotional Balloons bowl from the chip and dip set at an antique mall.  I have searched high and low for the small 441 to complete the set. Those of you who also would love to acquire this set know how hard it is to find the small bowl and how rare it is for one to pop up on eBay.  Well, I finally won one a couple of weeks ago for a pretty decent price.  It is actually the second one I won, the first one arriving smashed into a million pieces.  I know that when buying online, you are taking on certain risks.  Luckily for me, I recieved a full refund.

I actually read about the Blue Tulip promotional casserole as a thrift store find on another blog.  I headed to their etsy store and with a few clicks, it was mine.  I think its great how the internet and blogging can help us Pyrex lovers support one another.  The two custard cups are my first pieces of Agee Pyrex and for $8 total on eBay, they made their way to me.

I know that this blog is meant for sharing our mutual love of Pyrex, but I came across something at a sale the other day and I have no idea what it was used for.

There are no manufacturer markings on it.  The clear lid lifts open and the back is completely vented like it is shown on the top.  It's approximately 10" tall and meant to hang on the wall. It is made of heavy duty plastic like Luster Ware. It is so positively vintage kitchen, I couldn't pass it up.  Any help identifying this would be greatly appreciated.
