Mug happy!

Found these beautiful Butterfly Gold Pyrex mugs at a local vintage shop and had to snatch them up! I don't collect this pattern - I would, but my hubby isn't a fan and prefers the aqua/white pieces - so they are for trade if anyone is interested. They are the heavy white milk glass with the Pyrex stamp on the bottom (not the Corelle coordinates).

Hello Everyone and Some Pretty Pyrex Finds

Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for letting me join THE COLLECTIVE. Sounds pretty serious. And a bit like something I could put on a resume. If I ever needed a reselling/thrifting resume.

Anyway, I'm Shannon, aka the Recycleista. I LOVE thrifting. I mostly do it for resale to help pay the bills..but of course I'm not averse to keeping a few things here and there. Ok..more than a few things. I went shopping in a MALL the other day and it was so bizarre.

Pyrex. I have a very small collection at the moment. I had a nice Spring Blossom/Crazy Daisy collection in the past, but when I moved cross country (the second time) I decided to let it go. I am now on the hunt for Turquoise! A bit harder to find thriftily, I'm discovering.

This past Friday was 40% off day at Goodwill and I scored this Square Flower bowl (sorry, haven't learned the numbers yet) with cradle!! It was about $3 after the discount. Coming soon to an Etsy store near you. Do you think I should keep the cradle?

Then I waited long enough and they brought some more stuff out! Found this Pink Daisy open baker. Sweet! Makes me think that with a name like that...there was no lid originally? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I already have a divided casserole with lid in Pink Daisy but I think they will both be up for sale soon. I was debating between collecting pink or turquoise. Turquoise won...but I want red accents in my kitchen (long story, but my kitchen is currently non-existant so it's all theoretical). So I will probably sell the pink in order to buy some turquoise.

Then lastly, I found this cute little Old Town bowl with lid. According to Replacements, it's a sugar bowl with glass lid. And I thought it was for jam. Silly me. Also soon for sale.

So that's it. My long intro post. But it was the most Pyrex I've found in awhile, so I wanted to share. Maybe next I'll share the very humble turquoise collection I've managed to scrape together. Can't wait to drool rejoice over all of your finds!!

Pyrex Cups

Recently while thrifting, I found these!

I love them!
Woodlands cups (3) and one Ebony cup.
All say Pyrex at the bottom.

Are any of these patterns rare at all?
Should I keep them or sell?

I do rather like them.

XOXO

Pyrex trivia

1. Does anyone have any ideas about how old this Pyrex measuring cup is?

The marking are all in raised glass, rather than the typical red Pyrex markings.  It also has the closed handle, which I understand is typical of older measuring cups.

2. How old are these flameware pieces?

Here is the large perculator beside my other teapot, which I believe is newer, for comparison.

The top two pieces seem to have a greenish/bluish tinge, unlike my other flameware which are colourless, suggesting it's older.  Also, the knobs on the lids and the handles look very different.

Looking forward to reading all your comments on this!  :)

Please identify me (and Hello!)

I guess I should actually start with hello!

I'm a new blogger to the Pyrex Collective II (but a long time lurker) I come from Sunny San Diego by way of Virginia. You can often find me searching thrift stores, yard sales and estate sales for Pyrex and other vintage goodies. I've even got my husband in on the search. Yay!

This past weekend, I spotted a set of 4 mugs at an Estate Sale. Can you help me identify them? Only one is actually labeled Pyrex. The other 3 are labeled "Corning Decor Dinner Ware"

Any insight is much appreciated. I am on the fence about whether I am keeping this set of adding them to my Etsy store .

Thanks in Advance!

Three day Pyrex Spree!

First Post

Hello everyone my name is Kristi and I am new to the Collective. When I first got married almost 18 years ago we didn't have a lot of money and my mom and I shopped yard and estate sales to furnish my first home. I discovered a love for the primary colors of Pyrex. I have the complete primary set and the primary fridgie set from the very early days of my marriage. For years I bought pieces here and there but somewhere along the way I quit buying and got rid of almost everything but my primary pieces (I still use them almost daily).

A couple of months ago I was at my local Goodwill and found a small Spring Blossom casserole and my obsession began again. Luckily for me my mother had many, many pieces she had picked up at thrifts and yard sales that she gave me over Easter.

I just set up this cabinet in my living room. Almost all of these pieces have been collected in the last 2 months.

The Turquoise Butterprint pieces were bought yesterday at a flea market from the lovely couple who got them as a wedding gift. She was pleased they were going to someone who would enjoy them.

I bought the pink bowls at a yard sale. I am still looking for the smallest one. The pink daisy I just bought Tuesday from my local Salvation Army for $1.99 (I was way too excited about that one). The cake pans and pie plates were picked up here and there by my mom and me.

This first post is getting way too long so I will save the rest for another day.
