After a Pyrex Famine....

Well, I haven't been buying much Pyrex lately. Not sure why. Haven't seen anything I wanted. Or worth the space in my inventory. Or in good condition. Or not horribly overpriced. Or all of the above.

Then the other day I saw these:

What was noteworthy is that I was at Value Village which is notorious for overpricing...especially the Pyrex. But for some reason these were not.

And all 4 pieces were there.
After a quick text to Hubby for input, I got them all for less than $10. (had a coupon)

Hubs is the Shipping Department and he's been trying to steer me away from large and breakable. But he gave the go ahead...so I went ahead.

If I wasn't already committed to the turquoise....we'd be tempted to keep them...Hubby likes this pattern too.
At home I found one little chip on the 404. But a smooth one, not sharp. Not a dealbreaker, I don't think.

Ain't they purdy?

Turquoise Surprise!

Today my little family headed out to Walmart to return something, and what was supposed to be a dull, short errand turned into one of my favorite Pyrex scores yet!

My husband was driving, and there are two Walmarts about equal distance from our house.
He also knows there is a Goodwill on the way to each of them.
He also knows I will beg him to stop whenever we pass one.
So, he headed toward the Walmart with the Goodwill that is my least favorite Goodwill in Denver, probably hoping I wouldn't ask him to stop since I have never found good Pyrex there since it's grand opening a year ago. That is...

Until today...oh yes, I still made him stop.
{He insisted on stopping after Walmart, however, but that probably worked in my favor as you'll find out.}
Turquoise Pyrex
Still in the bins, fresh out from the back, waiting to be shelved {I always check the bins first, and I've scored some fantastic pieces there} were these three turquoise mixing bowls!
Sure, the 403 is missing, I'll have to hunt that guy down to complete this set.

So guess what they had this set of three priced at?
Pyrex Turquoise 404, 402, $ 401
$6.99!
For all three.
Gougewill Goodwill pricing Pyrex at less than an arm and a leg?
Wow.
I couldn't believe it, and I couldn't throw gently set them in my cart and run to the registers fast enough. {Okay, well maybe I checked the shelves first, then ran.}
Shiny Turquoise 401
They needed a little clean up, but they're nice and shiny.
Great find today, I think!

Fridgie Dilemma

I have a quick question that maybe you can help me solve... but first a story.
One of my first pieces was a horizon blue 501 fridgie, a few weeks later my mother found me a 502 that was blue. Then I went out to pick up a few pieces from a woman including 2 red 501s. Just last week I was at my cottage and found a yellow 503 at an antique shop for 11.00. In a few months I had collected the entire primary fridgie set, and all with lids. Now, in the last few weeks I have collected the exact same set just without the lids... or so I thought...

So, now my question to all of you is what is the difference between the horizon blue 502 fridige and the primary blue 502 fridgie? This may seem to sound like a silly question and I feel a bit a silly asking it but, I've looked all over and can't seem to spot a difference.
Can you help me?
My complete(?) primary set.

My Horizon Blue Fridiges

My lidless primary fridiges.

Now, my next question is: I bought this yesterday off a fellow collector. I knew it had utensil marks on it but I was unaware as to how bad they were. I've tried Weimans and BFK. They've worked but only marginally. what would you suggest?

Thank you!!!
Happy Hunting!
