Real or Fake?

Fellow Pyrex lovers my bestie came across this dish online and we were wondering if anyone has seen this IRL or knows anything about it. I apologize for
the photo but this what she sent me. To us it almost looks like a vintage decal on a clear lid but anything is possible

  1. Interesting! It's certainly not unheard of, for a one of a kind piece to turn up. I found this listing on eBay. First, the seller is in Ohio, which isn't too far from Charleroi where all the most unique pieces are much easier to find.

Also, the detailed photos of the lid on the listing seem pretty authentic. The fish print has some minor scratches just like we'd see in typical Pyrex prints.

I also think, if someone were going to create a fake, wouldn't they do it with a more popular design? The fish is pretty basic, not a stretch from the Mod Kitchen design. And the shape of the dish would be perfect for fish. So...

I'm leaning toward saying that this is real, just a very unique piece. But who knows for sure. I'm interested if anyone else has seen this one before?

I definitely don't think it will sell for $550 though ;-) But we'll see!

  4. It's real but it's on the wrong base. It should be on an opal base.

  5. REAL! My Girlfriend and I purchased this very same piece of Pyrex for our Blogger friend Missouri Michael over at "Cul-de-sac shack" for chsitmas this last year. we snagged ours for $60.00 in its original box (I'm not sure, but I dont think the gold holder picture is actually part of the set.) But yes, it is a very real piece!

  7. I love the "fish dish." So pretty and neat. (I remember a few months ago on the FB group a woman posted a picture with the box. The proper name is "fish dish", says so on the box)

  8. I comment whenever I appreciate a article on a site or I have something to add to the discussion.
It's triggered by the sincerness communicated in the article I read. And on this article "Real or Fake?". I was moved enough to drop a leave a responsea response ;-) I actually do have 2 questions for you if it's okay.
Could it be just me or does it look as if like a few of these comments come across as if
they are left by brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are
posting at additional social sites, I'd like to keep up with anything new you have to post. Could you list the complete urls of all your communal pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
