In a moment of desperation...

.....I broke down and made a couple of eBay purchases. It had been months since I had gotten my paws on some Pyrex and really just couldn't stand it anymore. So I ordered this great fridge set....for 26 bucks. I think I got a decent price. It looks great next to my primary mixing bowl set and I just can't get over how good of shape they are in!

  1. You said a couple of eBay purchased.. what else did ya get?

And I think it's cool to order on eBay when you're in a drought. Spoil yourself. $26 isn't a bad price at all. They sell at antique markets here for $75. Well... I don't know if they actually sell.. I see them them for $75.

  2. $26 isn't a bad price at all! I buy stuff off eBay that I know I'm not going to find out in the wild. Like a set of Butterprint mixing bowls for $45.

  3. $26 for that shiny set with the old-style lids is a great price! Way better than any antique store price I've ever seen on that set.

I was lucky to score my set for $6 at a thrift store before I was tempted to pay an antique store $100 for it--but I do the exact same thing as you when I've been in a thrift store Pyrex "drought" for too long, I end up buying something on eBay or Etsy!

    Nice find ;-)

  4. Somehow I always feel like I'm cheating when I buy online. Like I'm cheating myself out of the thrill of finding it in the wild. But I still do it lol. I've got a 3 piece set of Woodland Cinderella bows coming (for my mom) and 3/4 of an Americana fridgie set I snagged for 3.30! I was shocked the price for the primary was so low as I see them go upwards of 100 on ebay too, and are about 60-100 in stores around here. I also have this mystery piece I bought off a seller on Etsy last week. But I've been trying to find out information about it before I post.

  5. I think lots of us "cave" and get a few pieces on Ebay. Last week it was the Blue New Dot for me! I'd never find that at the thrift store.
Great job on getting your fridgie set for only $26.00!

  7. oooo the Blue New Dot is one my favorite pieces, I only have the blue and the red one. I can't find the two larger bowls for less than 40 or 50 a piece! I hope you enjoy them!
