Promotional Pyrex Find

I discovered something fun today at an Estate Sale. At first I did not think this was pyrex, because I was not familar with the pattern. Upon closer inspection I located the telltale pyrex stamp on the bottom.
After doing a little internet searching I discovered this is 1961 promotional piece called " Cosmopolitan" Apparently, it was sold in combination with a hot plate.

Does anyone know anything else about this piece?

Hop on over to my blog to see what else I found today!

  4. I found that piece too, without the hot plate. I like its modernist style. I found the casserole first at the Salvation Army and the week after I found the lid. It peeves me that I had to buy them separately because somebody was too ignorant to know that they went together, but I could not in good conscience leave the lid behind, now could I?

  6. I found this dish yesterday, but flipped it over and it said salton on the bottom. I didn't pick it up because it wasnt labled as pyrex. Does anyone know anything about this?

  7. Mine is a Salton also. From what I understand, Pyrex made them for Salton like they made the Heinz Promotional for Heinz. Some are marked Pyrex and some are marked Salton. I like that mine is Salton because it makes it more unique. Also, I believe that Salton made the hotplate that goes with it.
