I forget to post here!  Here are some pieces I found within the past few weeks:

Found my fourth blue fridge dish at the Goodwill.  Love these!

I found the Daisy casserole at the Goodwill, too, covered in grime.
This is my first Daisy piece.

I also found this red mixing bowl (from the Friendship set) at the Goodwill.
I was so excited when I found it on the shelf that another shopper started laughing at me!

Pink Pyrex Success!

So this is my first post here on the Collective and I wanted to kick things off by telling you all about my pink daisy divided dish find! I live in Langley BC and have recently found my self unemployed and whats a girl to do with all this free time? Well hunt for pyrex of course! So today I was at a Salvation Army and came across this lovely pink daisy divided dish, she needed some love with my magic eraser but she came out as beautiful as ever! I only paid $3.99 which given what the thrift stores in my area have been charging is a bargain! I am super excited to have the dish!

When Hunting for Pyrex Don't Forget to Look Down!

While on a Pyrex hunt on Saturday, we stumbled upon a thrift store on the Oregon Coast that was open before 10 am!  This is a very rare occurance in our area.  After walking around for a little while all I had found was a little milk glass tea cup and this Pyrex coffee mug

Although I hadn't found anything else, I was pretty happy with this mug.  What caught my eye was it was marked "Pyrex Double Tough".  I had never seen anything else like it so the trip into the shop wasn't a total loss.  Then, as we were walking out, my brother in law held up a cup he had pulled out of a box on the floor and said "This says Pyrex on it"
So cute!  A Butterfly Gold coffee mug.  I have several of these already but my sister didn't so she was really excited that he had found it.  We walked over to the box where he had pulled it out of to see if there were any more and this is what we saw

OMG!  Is this an entire box of Pyrex coffee mugs?!!!
No.  It's an entire box of Pyrex coffee mugs AND Pyrex creamers AND Pyrex sugar bowls AND a Pyrex gravy boat.  All marked Pyrex (not Corelle which makes a big difference to me).  And these are the heavier thicker pieces.  Each was marked $.50 so that would have put the whole box at $13.50.  Well guess what?  We asked the lady at the counter what she would take for the whole box and she said "Is $5.00 okay?"  Okay?!!  Are you kidding?  We gave her the $5.00 and RAN for the car before she changed her mind.  Now not everybody might think we got that great of a deal.  I mean really, how many coffee mugs and creamers does one person need?  But since we had just started to collect, this was the mother load!  We both walked by the box and didn't even give it a second glance.  Moral of the story....Always look down when hunting for Pyrex!

Is There Anything Pyrex CAN'T Be?!

The Most amazing thing has happened!
If you will remember I scored  the neat little metal sleigh on my Thrifting Extravaganza  and yes what you see in said sleigh is a Pyrex Fridgie #502. Now, this happened totally by accident, I was packing things up to go to the Casablanca and I thought "I'll send the sleight out there to pack away with all the other vintage decorations" (Which by the way, never seem as festive coming down as they do going up) so I sat it on the pile wrapped in its plastic bag.
Well next I pulled another 502 fridgie out (as a gift for a friend) and without even thinking sat in top of the sleigh.
The I must have felt what the guy who said "Hey, lets put peanut butter and Chocolate together and see what happens..."  MUCH to my surprise they fit almost perfectly together!
(OH. MY. GOD!)
After the 45 second mind-gazam had passed, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do! I ran over to my storage unit, and grabbed a blue 502 that had been dishwasher abused, and had lots its color and shine.
(I'm provably going to some form of Pyrex Hell for this...)
Three coats of paint, and an overnight dry later, I had a perfect looking fire engine red 502!
Then when I went to the Lake with friend Bryson on Friday, I gave the sleigh three coats of gold spray paint and let dry. I grabbed the lid from my good 502 in the kitchen.
(Ta-Da!)
I LOVE this one of a kind coffee table creation, that I'm calling "Santa's Pyrex Sleigh" !
(I have waaaay to much time on my hands...)

Has anyone ever seen this?

Neither one of us had ever thought that we would be to a point where we would blog about our thrifting finds, although we both enjoy others' posts. Today that all changed when we definitely found something that we had never seen before and that we can't find anywhere after hours of research on the Internet. At a thrifter's paradise in Astoria, Oregon we found this............

This fluorescent lighted advertisement states "Flameware Pyrex Ovenware." We would welcome any kind of information that anyone has about this light. We haven't been able to find any information about it and would love to hear if anyone has even seen something like this before. We are really excited to have it and because we are huge Pyrex collectors, this is the find of a life time. We will give it a perfect home!

PC II Almost Maxed

Hello there,

Wow - the Pyrex Collective II has almost reached the maximum capacity for authors. There are a few outstanding invitations. If you've recently requested to become an author, please check your email and look for the message from Blogger.

In the meanwhile, it may be a little while until I can get a third Pyrex Collective up and running.

Please be patient and full of cheery Pyrex optimism that we can get things rolling along soon.

Oh, also, please drop me an email if you have your own blog that needs to be linked.

Cheerio,
Erin

A couple of finds.

I found four cute dinner plates for 5c each!! Unfortunately my daughter managed to get hold of one and break it! I can't remember how much the bowl was but not much.

This little bowl is unmarked on the bottom but it's Pyrex right? Cost  $1.
