It's late November... and we need to see some new pictures in here! Just a random picture of a couple things that live in my kitchen. I am tired of seeing my previous post still here, from September. So I decided to just show off something random from my home. : )

~ Pyrex Butterprint... and my can of Bar Keepers Friend....
I am late. So late. I had not realize there was a contest going on for Bar Keepers Friend.
What I can do... is show off why I love this magical can of goodness. Along with my Mr. Clean sponge. These two items are my go to cleaning products for practically everything in my kitchen. Especially when cleaning vintage glassware.
See that cooked on... grime covered Butterprint dish. The one that the glass lid had decades worth of burnt nasty in all the grooves.
The one that I purchased for 3.99 at the thrift store. And had been there looking all ugly, with no takers. Well it got a forever home with me. I knew I could make it pretty again.
With a little time... a sink of warm water and that can of Bar Keepers Friend. A little miracle can happen. I pour some power out on the counter and dip my damp sponge in it. And get to rubbing.
Look how pretty she turned out! The only time I have run into issues with baked on grime... is in those tiny thin areas on the inner handle. It requires a tooth pick or a small tooth brush... a wet paste made from Bar Keepers... and patience. Sometimes I need a little help with the patience.
I have always used Bar Keepers Friend for cleaning my vintage glass. It has never dulled anything I have worked on. Or scratch up the design.
(Every thought shared here, is from my own bias opinion. These pictures are from my original post from Farm Girl Pink @ 2013 which I decided to share here. Strictly so you can see how well the product has worked for me in the past. And I buy my Bar Keepers Friend from my local Kroger...)

Contest Extension
We still have two Bar Keepers Friend gift baskets to hand out for PCI and PCII. I'm going to extend the contest until next Friday the 15th. If there are still no entries, we'll open up the contest again to PCIII.
Thanks again to Bar Keepers Friend for their generous gifts. If you know of any BKF posts I can tell them about, please let me know via email. This company is jazzed about Pyrex.
Thanks,
Canadian Erin

Let the Contest Begin!
Alright pretty Pyrex people.
We had a few great contest ideas. Here's what we want:
1. A photo of your most baked on, caked on Pyrex that has stubborn oven stains, etc.
2. A Haiku about your favourite Pyrex score. Being a teacher, I like the language tie-in. Here's a reminder about Haiku. It's poem with three lines. Traditionally, the first line has five syllables, the second has seven, and the third has five.
Please title your post something with the word 'Contest' in it, so I don't miss it. This Friday I'll take the names of everyone who entered from each Pyrex Collective site. Names will be cut up and put in a Pyrex bowl. I'll get my son to pick the winner.
* If I only get one response from a PC site, they will win. I will email the lucky winners to get mailing info which I will forward to the good people at Bar Keepers Friend.
Please use one of their products to clean your grubby Pyrex and post an 'after' photo. Thanks to Sir Thrift-a-lot for being such a proper contest idea generator!
Have fun and rock on!
Erin

Bar Keepers Friend Contest
Hello my Pyrex Buddies,
Over the years people have written about the proper way to clean vintage Pyrex. Bar Keepers Friend is a name that has popped up frequently as a cleaning agent that works for removing some stains from vintage Pyrex.
I was approached in good spirit by a representative from Bar Keepers Friend to do some publicity for the product. They have generously offered the gift basket you see pictured for each of the three Pyrex Collectives.
Do you have an idea for a contest?
Please email me with ideas. I will take submissions by the end of the weekend and hope to launch the contest next Monday.
Sincerely,
Canadian Erin

A Blanket of Pyrex
It has been soooo long since I published on here. I still love pyrex, but I think I have met my quota of collecting. Also it is harder and harder to find a good deal around.
But I have still been experimenting with making different items that use my illustrations of vintage pyrex on Zazzle. I have a new Horizon Blue purse which I think is adorable.
(Don't mind the horrible phone photo or the dirt I already got on it!)
This week, though, I made what I believe is maybe the cutest/nicest thing ever from my Zazzle store.
We have a little one coming soon in our family and I thought maybe the baby (we don't know the gender) would also share my love of pyrex.
So here is what came in the mail:
(Picture is not nearly as awesome as the actual blanket)
It is soft and sweet. The illustrations are very accurate and I ADORE IT!
I'm not posting just to plug my blanket to make money, I just feel bad not making it available to others! I think it is so nice I could even see it going up on a wall as a hanging. I am almost thinking no spit up will be allowed on it! :)

Do you have a request for a purse or something else in a specific pattern? I could probably do it for you. :) Have a great day!

Where Has Everybody Been?
Wow, did you all notice that there haven't been any new posts on the Collective 2 since December? I hope it's not because of a lack of pretty Pyrex being found. I've been finding some pieces here and there but have mainly been sticking to my personal blog to share them. Well that needs to change and that change starts here!
I've hit a couple of Pyrex jackpots in the last few weeks. Come and visit Pyrex Thrifter Sisters to check out my latest score from Monday.
Happy Hunting!
