One found, one given away.

I found this little number at an op shop that I pop into now and then on my way to work. I didn't see it straight away but jumped at it when I did.  I wish I was more eagle eyed because I am sure I miss treasures here and there.

This one actually has a lid, I don't normally find dishes this shape with lids. It was $6 and looked like new, paint is in fantastic condition as you can see, however I found a flat chip on the handle part when I got it home. It's not very noticeable though.  I am still happy!

My friend and I were chatting the other day and she told me she has two large Cinderella mixing bowls, but is missing the smaller one. I mentioned to  her that there should be four bowls (maybe I shouldn't have told her - lol). I knew I had the size bowl she was after put away somewhere. She said that she wasn't fussy about it matching her other bowls so it became hers. I wasn't really a fan of the Gooseberry pattern when I first bought this bowl (for $1) but it has since  grown on me.  I tells ya, she must be a good friend to be offered one of my precious mixing bowls (which is my thing at the moment). Luckily she is - lol.

Oh my precious Gooseberry, how I miss ya! I know you have a good home now and I can still visit. Hee Hee

Mismatched Sets are Beautiful Too!

My thrifting has been a bit out of control these last few weeks because I haven't been working. This week I got these three lovely bowls:

The bottom one is the most stunning colour of pink! I was so excited about the middle one because I have a platter with this rose on it and I love it so much I display it like art.

I also found these mugs, which are Crown Pyrex.

There are some more pictures on my blog too.

Happy Hunting!

Mystery Orange 402

I found some goodies yesterday! One of them is this orange 402 bowl (thrift store, $3.00!). Does anyone know which set it belongs to? I love the way the orange looks with my turquoise pieces!

In With The New

This is my first time posting! I love reading everyone's stories and seeing everyone's collections, so I thought I'd share some of mine.

Today was a bittersweet day. I really needed to free up some space in my kitchen, so I decided to pack away some pieces that I don't use very much to make room for some of my recent acquisitions! However, I did make sure the box was easily accessible so I can get to these pieces if I need them! These are the pieces that are temporarily being retired. I do collect Fire King Candleglow along with Pyrex...I just love the pattern.

But packing these away means that I can put the following pieces into rotation, especially now that the holidays are upon us and 'tis the season for "what can I bring?"...I'm excited to show these off to family and friends!

Hunting for Pyrex

So we went to a wedding for a friend of mine in Lake Charles and tried to Pyrex shop along the way. Lake Charles in general was a giant dud. I found mostly corelle pieces and maybe 2-3 overpriced pieces.

I had lost all hope of finding anything until my hubby spotted a random flea market on the side of the road. It was raining, 9 am on a Sunday morning, and looked at little shady. So why not? LOL

Found some AWESOME pieces.

The Pueblo is finally mine! I really wanted this in time for Halloween but I will take it!

$8 bucks!!!!

For Trade
I also restocked my pieces for trade.

Let me know if you want to trade. See my trade album.

Yellow 015 with 515 lid{hostess}

Well, I have really been wanting to post on here since the lovely Erin gave me permission.  I thought that today would be a lovely day to start because it is my 29th {eeeeeek} birthday.
I found this rare little beauty at an antique store a few weeks ago for the awesome price of $7 {originally marked $14, but all glassware was 50% off; yes please!}

After my research, here is what I found:

After I got her home, look what I found on the back:

This is my oldest & most favorite Pyrex to date. & overall, she is in pretty good condition:

& here is a lil tip I learned from another collector out&about while thrifting.
So far, I have seen no damage, but use at your own risk.

Hope everyone has a great weekend & getting some good finds.

Agee Pyrex

Hi everyone!

I'm new here but so thrilled to be able to take part. I collect all kinds of Pyrex, but I'm especially enamored with Agee Pyrex, made in Australia. I'm currently trying to find out more about Agee and would love any information about it I can find.

I don't think there is any kind of comprehensive resource as to colours, patterns and dates -- at least that I can find -- and I would love to start putting it together. Please email me or comment here if you know of any resources like this.

I am in the process of photographing my Pyrex collection for my blog so I thought I'd share a few of my pictures of what I think are older pieces of Agee pyrex here:

The piece that started my love affair!

Gorgeous pie plates (these are Crown pyrex)

I hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I do!
